The National Lottery Heritage Fund
Exciting News!
We are delighted to be able to announce that here at All Saints Church in Helmsley our plans for urgent conservation of our church, and especially it's medieval features and unique Edwardian wall paintings, have reached a key milestone.
Our church, which is well known as a place of friendship and support for the local community has been awarded a National Lottery Heritage Fund development grant of just over £138,000. This will allow us to fully develop our plans to deliver a programme of traditional skills development and to create a safe and sustainable future for this historic building and the heritage it holds.
The reverend Melanie Burnside said that "we are thrilled to be given this grant by The National Lottery Heritage Fund, to allow us to create detailed plans to restore and preserve the unique and amazing heritage in our lovely church, and especially to think of new ways to widen the range of local people and visitors who can engage with this heritage in new and innovative ways. We are grateful to the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and to everyone who supports the lottery."
We will be holding events in the new year to showcase the plans for everyone to come along and take part and to see what we will be doing. More details will be posted here as soon as they are ready.
